Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART)
Project:Neighborhood Map
The Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) system is an extensive metrorail network with over a hundred miles of track that has served the San Francisco Bay Area since 1972, serving nover 350,000 riders daily. Incorporating BART's marketing and branding approaches, and also making efforts to create a more environmentally conscious image of the agency, L+W redesigned each individual station's neighborhood map. The result was a visually stunning and attractive series of large format (60" x 60") maps to be displayed in all 43 BART stations. In addition to providing riders with general travel and wayfinding, the maps also include noted local buildings and landmarks.
